Recent Research Contradicts Cannabis Myths (Beliefs)

Medical cannabis is available to a majority of Americans, but North Carolinians don’t have equal liberty and still risk arrest for possession.

Dear Senator or Representative: (insert name),

Newer research contradicts myths (beliefs) about cannabis.

  • Research has found numerous therapeutic benefits, including treatment for chronic migraine and cluster headaches. Source
  • The addiction rate of cannabis (9%) is less than alcohol (15%), tobacco (32%), and many prescription drugs. Source
  • States with legal cannabis have lower opioid overdose rates than states with cannabis prohibition. Source
  • Overall states that legalized cannabis found that crime rates and impaired driving decreased after legalization. Source

Medical cannabis is available to a majority of Americans, but North Carolinians don’t have equal liberty and still risk arrest for possession.

Sincerely,

Your name
